Nilay founded The Vora Law Firm in 2018 to create a boutique practice focused on high-stakes disputes and values-driven advocacy. He exclusively represents plaintiffs in complex employment cases and regularly litigates major commercial disputes against Fortune 500 companies. His practice also includes co-counseling in unique impact litigation with some of the country’s leading civil rights organizations.
Nilay’s results have been widely covered by the legal press and mainstream media. In 2024, he secured a unanimous California Supreme Court victory overturning decades of precedent on arbitration waivers, a ruling that protected workers and consumers from unfair litigation tactics. That same year, he helped lead a class action establishing that the FBI had violated the Fourth Amendment through unconstitutional searches, a case hailed by the Ninth Circuit as echoing abuses that led to the adoption of the Amendment itself.
His advocacy has also preserved healthcare access, including a successful challenge against the City of San Gabriel that ensured the construction of a much-needed dialysis center. Earlier in his career, Nilay co-led litigation in Ball v. LeBlanc, a years-long case that ended the torture of Louisiana death row inmates held in extreme heat—litigation that produced landmark federal rulings and national media attention.
Nilay is consistently recognized as a SuperLawyer, and he has earned national honors, including the inaugural Pro Bono Award from the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. He serves annually as a visiting instructor at Harvard Law School’s Trial Advocacy Workshop and is a frequent speaker at leading universities and professional organizations.
